Unfortunately, the hurricane of 2016 hit the region very hard, uprooting almost all the trees, destroying most of the houses and taking away the solar system that helped pump the drinking water. CORRECT seized the occasion to turn that adversity into opportunity.
We had an aggressive fundraising campaign and with the contribution of committed friends of CORRECT, we were able collect $ 31,471.00 over the past 12 months. It has allowed us to replace the roof on 22 houses, replace and secure the solar panels so that we could resume bringing safe drinking water to the community. We have upgraded the clinic by having a new lab technician and this year, for the first time, Chateau has its own physician making it possible to handle more difficult cases.
